George M. Petty

George Petty founded Venture South International in June 2008 as a company which lends to Micro, Small and Medium enterprises through subsidiary companies.  Venture South lends US$ 2,000 – US$ 70,000 to small businesses who can not access banks loans.  This “Missing Middle” of finance is a niche where there is tremendous potential to finance businesses which create jobs, expand the economy, pay taxes and broaden the middle class.  Prior to creating VS, George served as Program Executive of ECLOF, a global microfinance organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, for nearly 12 years where he was involved in all aspects of the organizations work.  Prior to working for ECLOF he was an Assistant Vice President for March & McLennan insurance brokers in New York and London.
